Questions

Answers, before you have to ask for them.

The things people ring up to check. If yours is not here, call 07832 969758 or email enquiries@cpme.services and ask — a straight question gets a straight answer.

What we cover

Which fuels do you actually work on?
Mains natural gas, LPG and oil, plus the renewable options that replace them — air and ground source heat pumps, biomass and log boilers and solar thermal. Out past Chichester a lot of properties were never connected to the gas network, so being set up for all of them matters more here than it would in a city.
Do you really do the electrical side too, or do you sub it out?
We do it. Wiring, lighting, CCTV and security, and fire systems, domestic and commercial. On our own heating, renewables and air-conditioning jobs that means the circuits, isolation and controls are part of the same quote and the same visit.
Do you work on commercial premises as well as homes?
Yes. Alongside domestic work we take on mechanical installation, planned maintenance and project management for commercial buildings — plant rooms, distribution, pumps and controls — with the electrical package available from the same firm.
Can you service a system somebody else installed?
Almost always, yes. Gas, oil and air-conditioning systems fitted by others are serviced and maintained on the same basis as our own installations.

Quotes, visits and money

How do I get a price?
Call, WhatsApp or email and describe the property, the fuel and the fault or the plan. Photographs of the boiler, tank, unit or consumer unit help enormously. For anything larger than a service we come out and look at the job before quoting it.
What is in the quote?
The whole job, including the parts that often get left out — the electrical work, the condensate, the making-good and the commissioning. Nothing starts until you have agreed it in writing.
How can I pay?
All major debit and credit cards through our SumUp card service. We can also offer 0% finance to our customers on installation work, subject to status — ask us while the job is being quoted rather than after it is booked.
Do you publish a price list?
No, because the honest answer to most heating questions is that it depends on the property. What we will do is tell you what is involved before you commit, and put the figure in writing.

Servicing, landlords and paperwork

What is the difference between a safety check and a service?
A safety check establishes that an appliance is safe as it stands. A service cleans, measures and adjusts it so it keeps running properly and stays within warranty terms. Plenty of landlords have both done in the same visit — that is what a service plan is for.
What is a service plan?
Your annual servicing and safety checks put on a schedule that we keep, rather than one you have to remember. One property or a whole portfolio, with gas, oil and air conditioning on the same plan and the paperwork issued each visit.
Can you arrange access with my tenants directly?
Yes. Give us the tenant’s number and we will book the appointment with them and report back to you.
Are you registered for this work?
We work as a Gas Safe, OFTEC, REFCOM and F-Gas registered company, covering gas and LPG appliances, oil-fired appliances, refrigeration and air conditioning and the fluorinated gases they use. Ask to see our registrations at any point in a job and we will show you them.

Getting hold of us

What are your hours?
Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am–2:00pm. We are closed on Sunday. Emails and WhatsApp messages sent out of hours are picked up the next working morning.
Where do you work?
Our base is in Selsey and we work in Chichester and the surrounding area. If you are not sure whether you are in reach, send your postcode and we will tell you straight away rather than leaving you guessing.
Is WhatsApp a sensible way to reach you?
It is often the best way, because you can send photographs of the appliance or the fault with your message. The number is the same as the phone number.
